Model: Quiet Air Scout (small and very portable model, with wheels and extendable handle)In good condition, very quiet, used in construction, fully functional, has a max setting of 135 psi, and restarts when pressure drops to about 100 psi.
We love the maintenance free where we don’t have to worry about oil loss. While the unit isn’t the quietest we have heard, it is definitely not the loudest. Using one compressor instead of two or three, means less noise, less amp draw, less to carry around and a savings in your pocket book. Having the capability of more usable air means less junk on your job site. You can pick this up at The Home Depot for about $270. Now that Husky has this extreme compressor out, I think it’s worth every penny. For the price, they are worth every penny. As I said before, we have had Husky compressors in the past and they have been great. Okay, now that you know a little bit about this compressor, let’s get down to business and what do we think of it. Still not enough? How about a 3 year warranty to help you sleep better at night. Lucky for all of us, it has a nice 1/4 turn ball drain valve which is easy to get to. The tank is steel, which means you should be draining the tank to expel the water build up. Now don’t get me wrong because I love all the stats I just mentioned, but for me, I love that it’s oil-less and best of all, it will easily start up even at -20 Degree F. However they did create a compressor that is 25% lighter and up to 25% quieter than it’s competitors. So are they first to market with all this? No. This compressor is 5.1 SCFM which means it will run a ton of different tools or even run a bunch at the same time. Pretty cool isn’t it? The max output is 150 PSI.Īll sounds great, but what about the SCFM? Here is another whopping stat. 125 psi tank, which means you can fire 3 time as many nails at any one time. This is 225 psi which makes this hold over 3x as much usable air as a 4 Gal. The cage even has a nice cord management to keep your power cord stored when not in use. All this is nicely bundled in a protective roll cage. They attach a 1.7 HP soft start motor to help this bad boy compress air. So how do they do it? Husky built this compressor with a 4 gallon tank which means it’s not big and bulky when you have to carry it around. This is designed to be used by a trim crew all the way up to a three man framing crew. Now I am not saying a homeowner can’t buy this compressor, but this is made for the tradesman and for a reasonable price. So let’s jump in and see what this is all about. So I was happy when we had the chance to do a Husky compressor review. This compressor was made to be a workhorse. As I was looking at this new compressor, I could tell right off the bat that this was something different and not your normal homeowner compressor. While they were great compressors, you know they were just made for the homeowner who needs a reliable compressor. We have done some compressors in the past like the Husky 20 gallon and the Husky 3 gallon. While we were looking at the Husky products, this compressor caught my eye. Recently we were out in New York and had a chance to visit with Husky and some other brands. At least that’s how I think of the brand. I can’t say for sure, but if you ask someone, I am pretty sure they will describe Husky as a brand sold at The Home Depot, that is inexpensive and designed for the homeowner. What comes to your mind when you hear Husky? No, I am not talking about the dog, I am talking about the tool brand.
